Our Insights

The highly competitive Design Media Arts program at UCLA enrolls about 10 MFA students a year. Each year, a package is mailed to prospective grad students in order to promote and sell the program. The package contains a brochure of alumni work, program information and a poster.

Use All Five was selected to create the 2010-2011 package. We examined the work of the 2010 class a noticed a clash between the old and new. To illustrate this concept, we used a heavy amount of programming to create abstract patterns and typography that clashes with tactile and nostalgic printing techniques such as metallic inks and a restrained use of PMS spot colors.
